Outright Gift of Appreciated Securities – You can avoid capital gains taxes with a gift of appreciated securities and receive the maximum income tax deduction too. By transferring shares of one or more publicly-traded securities, like stock, bonds, and mutual funds, to the Christian Brothers you’ll make an immediate impact. Your gift of securities can help students today.
Donor-advised Fund – Perhaps you have created a donor-advised fund (DAF) to manage your charitable giving. If so, you can recommend distributions to the Christian Brothers of the Midwest. Keep in mind, in addition to suggesting a distribution now, you can make sure to create a succession fund that dictates where the remaining funds go at the termination of the DAF.
